Let’s put an end to menstrual shame. Period.
When Molly was in school the leaflets were removed from her box of tampons in case the boys got hold of them. With potential of negative hygiene practice, infections and even toxic shock syndrome Molly argues that the health of the girl should be prioritised over the potential pornographic exposure from anatomical drawings. If we shame and oversexualise periods, we rob girls and women from the opportunity to know their bodies, to know what is normal and what is not. Periods are not a weakness – losing blood consistently for a week a month and staying alive. How awesome is that?
